Last Wednesday night at Bendigo the Downbytheseaside 2yo colt Cardigan Dan won the Vicbred Super Series Silver for trainer Emma Stewart and driver Mark Pitt covering the 2150 metres at a 1:56.8 rate.

 

It was Cardigan Dan’s third win for the season and lifted his earnings to $46,400.

 

He is the fourth foal and fourth winner from the Rock N Roll Heaven mare Rocknroll Magic and her third foal Let Her Roll made it a big week for the mare when she won the Listed 2025 South Australian Oaks at Globe Derby Park on Saturday night.

 

Trained by Emma Stewart and driven by leading South Australian reinsman Wayne Hill, Let Her Roll started a short-priced favourite at $1.06 and she won by 30 metres from Dee Jays Miss and Queen Lilibet.

 

It was Let Her Roll’s tenth win in 20 starts and took her earnings to $183,463

 

Let Her Roll’s breeders Bruce and Craig Cameron will offer a Captaintreacherous half-sister to both Let Her Roll and Cardigan Dan as Lot 201 in the 2026 Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale.

 

Rocknroll Magic was the 2016 Australian 3yo Filly Pacer of the Year and she is a half-sister to Ride High whose first crop of foals began racing as 2yos in 2025 and he is already the sire of 10 2yo winners.
