Continuing the Game of Thrones theme at the Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale, Lot 14 is offered by Yabby Dam Farms Pty Ltd.

Lot 14 is a colt by the French stallion Classic Connection out of the Angus Hall mare My Arya. Arya Stark, of course, is the younger sister of the King in the North, Robb Stark.

Classic Connection’s first crop raced as two-year-olds in 2025, producing four individual juvenile winners. Among them was the filly Cee Cee In Paris, who won twice, including the Final of the 2YO Trotters Foundation at Menangle, and set a record of tr,2,1:59.1.

His leading earner for the season was another filly, Afternoon Breeze, who won three of her four starts. Her victories included the Bob Conroy 2YO Classic and a heat of the Nutrien Sales Classic, before finishing second to Jilliby Aura in the $75,000 Final of the Nutrien Sales Classic.

My Arya, the New Zealand-bred dam of Lot 14, was an outstanding racemare, winning 15 races and being crowned Australian 2YO Filly Trotter of the Year in 2014 and Australian 3YO Filly Trotter of the Year in 2015. She retired with earnings of $302,477.

Her first foal, Valyrian, is a winner of two races, while her second foal, Mysaria, qualified as a three-year-old at Rangiora just prior to Christmas.

My Arya is also a half-sister to the superstar New Zealand trotter Stent, who retired with earnings of $1,156,750. Stent was named the 2012 New Zealand 3YO Trotting Colt/Gelding of the Year and later achieved the rare honour of being crowned Trotter of the Year in both New Zealand and Australia in 2015.

Lot 278 in the Melbourne sale is also sired by Classic Connection.
