Having just his second start since resuming as a 3yo the What The Hill gelding Notanotha Naughty was an effortless winner in Saturday’s $60,000 Gold Coronet final ahead of Gladiatrix and Im Havintotrot rating a career best 1:57.6 for the 1730 metres.
Beautifully driven by Nathan Jack for trainer Glenn Hunter, it was Notanotha Naughty’s fifth win and lifted his earnings to $89,344.
Notanotha Naughty won four races last season as a 2yo including the Group One Redwood Classic and a heat of the Vicbred Super Series before finishing fourth in the Group One final of that race.
Notanotha Naughty is the second foal from the imported American mare Naughty III which won eight races including the time-honored Horseman Futurity on her way to career earnings of $249,744.
Naughty III’s third foal is being offered by H & L Cathels as Lot 182 at next month’s Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale.
Lot 182 is a colt by the well-credentialled first-season sire King Of The North.
King Of The North won nine races and $1,370,242 and was voted the USTA’s 2yo Colt Trotter of the Year in 2021.
Naughty III is a full-sister to Herbies Wild Child which won ten races and $111,375 and their dam Msnaughtybynature won 22 races and $642,044.
