On March 6th at Bathurst the 2yo filly Windy Hill Lucy gave first season sire McWicked his second winner when she scored a narrow but impressive win over her more fancied stablemate Drama Chick.
Trained by Steve Turnbull and driven by Amanda Turnbull, Windy Hill Lucy rated 1:58.0 for the 1730 metres and sprinted home the final sectional in 28.1 seconds.
In winning Windy Hill Lucy elevated her dam, the 12 time winning Lucy Lamb p,1:56.2 $45,890, into winner-producing status and put a focus on her yearling half-sister by Captain Crunch which is Lot 51 in next weekend’s Nutrien Bathurst Yearling Sale.
Being offered by Golden Gait Stud this filly has her first three dams as sub-2:00 winners and in addition all three are sub-2:00 producers.
Lucy Lamb’s dam History Repeating is a half-sister to 3yo Queensland Triad winner All Eyes On Me p,1:51.0 $349,926 which is now the dam of NSW Carousel winner All Eyes On Us p,1:51.4 $307,515.
History Repeating is also a half-sister to 2yo Queensland Triad runner-up Hidden Gem p,1:56.0 $104,828 which is the dam of Hidden Courage p,1:50.5 $243,702.
Lot 51 is being prepared for next week’s sale by Golden Gait Stud and a call to 0427 443 267 will enable arrangements to be made for a pre-sale inspection.
