After racing below expectations in the 3yo final of the Vicbred Super Series, Captaintreacherous colt Captain Perfect won his heat of the Australasian Breeders Crown at Melton last Friday to qualify for this week’s $100,000 Final where he has drawn the second tier.

Trained by Emma Stewart and driven by Mark Pitt, Captain Perfect has now recorded eight wins from 18 starts across his 2YO and 3YO seasons, with career earnings standing at $106,199.

The outstanding draft being offered at the Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale by Durham Park Standardbreds includes a Bettors Delight half-brother to Captain Perfect which is Lot 194.

Lot 194 is from the Group One–placed Art Major mare Perfect Sense, a nine-time winner and $143,530 earner. She is also a half-sister to Auckland Cup winner Turn It Up, who continues to race in Brisbane and is closing in on $1 million in earnings.

The pedigree depth is undeniable. Perfect Sense is a full sister to Group Two winners Narutac Prince ($167,373) and Treasure ($161,402), and a half-sister to the dam of Victoria Oaks winner Sweet Bella.
