Somebeachsomewhere stallion Huntsville has had an interrupted stud career in Australia but he is well and truly back on track after his 2yos Birdsong and Jacwill Kid won the Group One Bathurst Gold Tiara and Bathurst Gold Crown finals at Bathurst on Saturday night.

After a remarkable first Australian crop in 2019 of 133 foals produced 87 winners (65% winners/foals) Huntsville remained in the USA until 2022 when Cobbity Equine secured access to the stallion’s frozen semen.

The move has paid handsome dividends with the 84 foals born in 2023 already producing five 2yo winners just three months into the 2026 season and three of those five winners have already won stakes races.

There is just one yearling sale scheduled for the remainder of the 2026 season – the Nutrien Melbourne Sale on April 12.

There is just one Huntsville yearling scheduled to be sold that day.
Lot 237 is a filly by Huntsville from the winning Art Major mare Trucolors which is being offered by Benstud Standardbreds.
Trucolors is a three-quarter sister to 2yo Vicbred Super Series winner Guaranteed and a half-sister the dam of 3yo Vicbred Super Series winner Pacifico Dream.

As the Demtel man used to spruik – “But wait there is more”.

In addition to an outstanding pedigree is the fact that Lot 237 is bred on the same cross as the 2026 Bathurst Gold Tiara winner Birdsong which is also by Huntsville from an Art Major mare.

Birdsong is unbeaten in four starts in 2026 and she has earned $101,628 to date.

Interestingly Birdsong was purchased as a weanling by Ben & Mel Settree from The Nutrien 2024 Winter Woolies online sale for $17,000

Lot 237 is being prepared for the Melbourne Sale by Benstud Victoria and inspection can be arranged by calling 0429 950 055.
