The running of eight Breeders Crown finals at Melton this Saturday will see a lot of breeders, owners and trainers crossing fingers and hoping for a touch of luck.

Winning a Breeders Crown Final is tough and it is an achievement to even qualify.

Heats were held at Bendigo and Melton last week and the results had an impact on pedigrees for the 2026 Nutrien Yearling Sales.

The 2yo Bettors Delight filly Bettor Beach made a dream debut at Melton last Friday in a heat of the Australasian Breeders Crown for trainer Emma Stewart and driver Kate Gath.

Finishing powerfully from four back on the fence, Bettor Beach downed her previously unbeaten stablemate Arrhythmia right on the line rating 1:58.8 for the 2240 metres.

Durham Park Standardbreds will offer an American Ideal half-brother to Bettor Beach as Lot 268 in then 2026 Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale.

Lot 268 is the third foal from the Group Three placed Beach Garden which won 11 races and $135,844 and after last week’s result she is now a 100% Producer with her first two foals both winners this season.

A Somebeachsomewhere mare, Beach Garden is a half-sister to seven other winners including the sub 1:50 winner Major Major p,1:48.4 $215,767.

Bettor Beach has drawn well in barrier two in the $100,000 final this week.
