The opening race at Wagga last Friday afternoon saw the debut of the Captain Crunch colt You Gotta Believe for trainer Russell Jack and driver David Moran.

Starting favourite at $1.95 You Gotta Believe came off fellow debutante Lexy’s back turning for home and, with the pair sprinting the final 400 metres in 27.0 seconds, got his head in front in the shadows of the post to win by a neck and rated 1:54.8 for the 1740 metres.

You Gotta Believe was bred by Jackie Gibson and the Gibson family’s Success Stud will offer a half-brother to You Gotta Believe as Lot 204 in the 2025 Nutrien Sydney Yearling Sale on March 9.
