The win of the 3yo Ride High colt Mount Barker Boy at Bendigo on Wednesday night for trainer Emma Stewart and driver Ryan Sanderson gave the colt’s dam Abettorrose her fourth individual winner from just her four foals of racing age.
A four-time winning daughter of Bettors Delight, Abettorrose’s fifth foal will be offered by Alabar Bloodstock at the Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale on April 12 as Lot 251.
Lot 251 is a colt by Captain Crunch which makes him a three-quarter brother to his dam’s best winner Burton which has won 10 races and stakes of almost $92,000.
Abettorrose won four races including the Group Two Pink Bonnet at Menangle as a 2yo.
Her dam Estella Rose was also a Group Two 2yo winner taking out the Nevele R Stakes on her way to seven career wins and $142,787 in stakes. She came back as a 3yo and finished fourth in the New Zealand Oaks behind the superstar filly Elect To Live.
Estella Rose is a full-sister to the unraced Larissa Rose whose son, by Bettors Delight, Jacks Legend which won at Group One level as a 2yo before going on to be placed in both a New Zealand Cup and New Zealand FFA as a 4yo.
Sold to the USA, Jacks Legend performed at the top FFA level in the States including wins in two $50,000 legs of the Borgata Pacing Series and taking a record of 1:47.4 in winning the $50,000 final of the Inside Harness Series at The Meadowlands.
Jacks Legend currently has a career record of 46 wins and stakes of $1,224,050 and is scheduled to start at Yonkers on April Fool’s Day.
