Sydney and Northam are on opposite sides of Australia but at Northam on Saturday night the 3yo Bettors Delight filly Follow Your Mother led throughout to take out the opening race on Northam Cup night for trainer Kevin Charles and driver Chris Voak.

The 2025 Nutrien Sydney Yearling Sale on March 9 includes a half-brother to Follow Your Mother as Lot 133.

Consigned by Larry Walls, Lot 133 is by Poster Boy from the Art Major mare Formidable Miss which after Saturday night has now produced three winners.

Those three winners include the KerryAnn Morris trained American Spirit which has won seven races and $106,166 including five wins as a 3yo in 2024.

Poster Boy had his first crop race as 2yos in 2024 and from a crop of 73 foals he already has 25 individual winners and we are less than four weeks into that crop’s 3yo season.

Formidable Miss is a half-sister to three-time Australian Pacing Mare of the Year Make Mine Cullen which notched up 40 wins and $874,178 in stakes while a full-sister to Formidable Miss in Rogers Passion won on 10 occasions and earned $136,446.

Rogers Passion is the dam of Captain Hammerhead which was first past the post in the Group Three Shepparton Gold Cup on January 11 before it was disqualified by the stewards for an infringement by his driver.

Captain Hammerhead, a winner of a 3yo Nutrien Sales Classic and $251,764, is by a son of Somebeachsomewhere in Captaintreacherous as is the sire of Lot 133 in Poster Boy.

Jake Stockton at Wingate Farm is preparing Lot 133 and he can be contacted on 0428 527 998 to arrange a pre-sale inspection.
