The announcement by Harness Racing Australia on Tuesday morning of unbeaten superstar trotting filly Keayang Zahara as the 2024 Australian 3yo Trotting Filly of the Year was hardly a surprise as last month she was awarded the honour of the 2024 New Zealand 3yo Trotting Filly of the Year.
Lot 279 in the Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale provides trotting fans with the opportunity to buy a colt very closely related to Keayang Zahara.
Lot 279, is being offered by Lang Bloodstock and is the first foal from a Group One winning three-quarter sister to the dam of Keayang Zahara.
Like Keayang Zahara, Perfect Polly was unbeaten winning her only two race-starts in a heat and the Group One final of the Vicbred Home Grown Classic.
Lot 279 is by the imported French trotting superstar Bold Eagle which, with earnings of $7,460,586 from his 46 wins, is the richest Standardbred stallion of either gait available in the Southern Hemisphere.
Bold Eagle is already the sire of some 45 $100,000 earners in Europe and the eight foals in his first commercial Southern Hemisphere crop have just turned 2yo.
