The win of the 2yo Downbytheseaside gelding Keayang Seaside at Terang on December 30 for the Lee family provided his dam Garden Gate Tina with her seventh individual winner.
An imported American bred mare, Garden Gate Tina won 15 races and earned stakes of $146,804 and her next foal is being offered by Bruce Edward’s Durham Park Standardbreds as Lot 215 at the 2025 Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale.
Lot 215 is colt by Ride High whose highly anticipated first crop will race as 2yos in the coming weeks.
Ride High is a son of Art Major which makes Lot 215 a three-quarter brother to Garden Gate Tina’s fastest winner Major Major p,1:49.8 which has nine wins and stakes of $145,687 and is also a son of Art Major.
Durham Park have a total of 17 yearlings being offered at the 2025 Sales with ten scheduled to go under the hammer in Melbourne and seven at Nutrien’s Sydney Sale.
Also in Durham Park’s Melbourne draft is Lot 315 which is the first foal from a daughter of Garden Gate Tina in Tina’s Delight.
Tina’s Delight is an unraced daughter of Bettors Delight and Lot 315 is a filly by Sweet Lou which with just six crops of racing age in 2024 finished third on the Australian Sires List behind Bettors Delight and Art Major with his progeny providing 306 individual winners of 832 races and stakes of $10,155,159.
Sweet Lou topped the Australian 3yo Sires List in 2024 with 103 individual winners of 287 races and $3,099,256 and he also topped the Australian 2yo Sires List with 31 winners of 74 races and $1,193,163 in stakes.
