The announcement last weekend of the 2025 New Zealand Award winners has prompted a number of catalogue updates, with few more significant than Lot 40 in the Nutrien Sydney Yearling Sale.

Offered on account of N40 Racing, Lot 40 is a filly by champion sire Bettors Delight from the winning Christian Cullen mare Cullen Who.

She is a full sister to three winners, most notably Marketplace, recently crowned 2025 New Zealand 3YO Pacing Colt of the Year.

Marketplace was also named 2024 New Zealand 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year and further enhanced his record in 2025 with five additional wins, highlighted by a Group One treble in the New Zealand Derby, Northern Derby, and Sires Stakes Final. His career earnings now stand at $924,046.

Lot 40 is also a full sister to Whos Delight, a ten-time winner with earnings of $187,610, underlining the consistency and depth of this outstanding family.

Beyond her immediate pedigree, Lot 40 is bred on the highly successful Golden Cross of Bettors Delight over Christian Cullen mares. This cross has produced an extraordinary 442 winners worldwide, including 99 in Australia—a remarkable statistic given that neither sire stood in this country.

Of those 442 winners, 156 have earned in excess of $100,000, and the cross has already produced ten millionaire pacers, with Marketplace seemingly destined to become number eleven.

Lot 40 is being prepared by Benstud NSW, with pre-sale inspections available by contacting Benstud on 0458 658 273.
