Last Friday at Newcastle the Ohoka Punter 3yo gelding Tamatine Tane, having just his second start in a race for trainer Ashleigh Delosa, took out the Tooheys Maiden Pace covering the mile in 1:58.5.

He won comfortably from Miss Adonis and Captain Gem and gave his dam Kotiro a winner from her only foal of racing age.

Kotiro’s second foal is a colt by Dancin Lou and he will be offered by BPM Bloodstock as Lot 46 in the 2025 Nutrien Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale.

A millionaire son of Sweet Lou, Dancin Lou won the Breeders Crown as a 3yo and his first foals are the current crop of yearlings.

His first American crop raced as 2yos in 2024 and he is the sire of 19 winners including Stonebridge Wizard which took a 2yo record of 1:51.4 and banked $206,629 with his biggest win coming in the $176,688 Battle Of Waterloo.

Kotiro won on six occasions and her dam Relation is a half-sister to three $100,000 earners including Always Smoking which took a sub 1:50 mark last October at Albion Park and has now won 11 races and $151,131.

This is the immediate maternal family of Western Australia’s best 4yo in 2024 in Mister Smartee which has won 15 of his 18 career starts and $555,051 including a last start win in December in the Group One Golden Nugget Championship.
