Victorian vendor Yorkshire Park Standardbreds are taking keener interest than usual in Queensland racing at the moment as the 4yo Sweet Lou stallion Birkirkara brought up his fourth win in as many starts at Albion Park last Tuesday afternoon.

Reined by Adam Richardson for trainer Jack Butler, Birkirkara was having his first start since a spell after winning three from three as a 3yo with a slick win rating 1:53.1 over 1660 metres before having a break from racing.

Yorkshire Park will off an Always B Miki filly half-sister to Birkirkara as lot 322 in the 2025 Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale.

Lot 322 is one of those rare lots where the Dam and 2nd Dam completely fill the catalogue page due to the depth of the pedigree.

The dam of Lot 322 is the winning Bettors Delight mare Watch The Dream which is a winning half-sister to six other winners including New Zealand 2yo and 3yo Filly Pacer of the Year Western Dream which won 14 races. Western Dream is the dam of the Group One 2yo WA Golden Slipper Stakes winner Western Cullen.

Another half-sister to Watch The Dream in Christian Dreamer is the dam of the champion Bettors Delight mare Amazing Dream which was New Zealand’s 3yo Filly Pacer of the Year in 2020 and Australia’s Aged Pacing Mare of the Year in 2021.

Amazing Dream won 30 races and $1,948,206 and her full-brother Lets Chase The Dream was the 2015 New Zealand 2yo Colt Pacer of the Year and later took a 1:49.9 record in the USA on his way to earnings of $604,589.

Lot 322 is being prepared for the Melbourne Sale by Dr Kath McIntosh at Llowalong Farms and Dr McIntosh can be contacted on 0427 497 429 to arrange a pre-sale inspection.
