The 4yo stallion Supa American made his debut as a 3yo in August last season and on Friday night in Tamworth’s Group Three Golden Guitar final he recorded his fourth win in just six career starts for trainer Jason Grimson.

Supa American is by the now defunct American Ideal from the 2021 Australian Broodmare of the Year Beninjurd which makes him a brother or half-brother to four $100,000 earners including the champion mare Tough Tilly which won three times at Group One level on her way to 17 wins and $618,333 in stakes.

Supa American is a full-brother to a dual Group One 2yo winner in Centenario which has 11 wins and $332,520 in stakes while a half-brother in Lightning Dan was also a Group One winner as a 2yo on his way to eight wins and $205,847 in stakes.

Lot 350 in the 2025 Nutrien Melbourne Yearling, on account of Benstud Standardbreds, is by Downbytheseaside from Beninjurd.

Tough Tilly and Lightning Dan are both by a son of Somebeachsomewhere in Captaintreacherous and Downbytheseaside is another highly successful siring son of Somebeachsomewhere with 146 Australasian winners to his credit from three crops of racing age.

Downbytheseaside finished fourth on the 2024 USTA 2yo Sires List where remarkably three of the leading four sires of 2yos were sons of Somebeachsomewhere.
