The opening event at Mount Gambier on Tuesday saw an unusual quinella when Spook Crocker beat his nephew Go Jack Crocker in the opening event at the meeting.

Both horses are trained by Steven Fennell and the margin between them at the finish was just a head.

It was the Somebeachsomewhere gelding Spook Crocker’s fourth win and his dam Innocent Crocker is a half-sister to the Art Major gelding Go Jack Crocker which has also won four races.

Go Jack Crocker is a full brother to millionaire Major Crocker which won 73 races and $1,275,496 and their dam Aratusa Lass has produced ten winners with five of them each earning in excess of $100,000.

A full sister to Major Crocker and Go Jack Crocker in Samara Crocker won four races and she is the dam of Lot 25 in this Sunday’s Nutrien Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale at Albion Park.

Lot 25 is consigned by Walk Proud Pty Ltd and is being prepared for Sunday’s sale by Somerset Farm who can be contacted on 0423 858 487 to arrange inspection.

But wait – there is more – a full-sister to Major Crocker, Go Jack Crocker and Samara Crocker is the 5yo Art Major mare Annie Crocker which trainer Tom Ison has engaged in Race 5 at Tamworth on Thursday afternoon.

Stay tuned for yet another update to Lot 25 before Sunday
